Personal Bio:
An Nguyen is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at King's Business School, King’s College London. She is a mixed-methods researcher, interested in using quantitative, qualitative and machine learning techniques to conduct research in HRM, Education Policy and Human Capital Development in global contexts. As an experienced educator, she has led large modules, flipped classroom learning, dissertation supervision and tutorials in Human Resource Management at UK universities in both online and face-to-face delivery. She is keen to experiment with new methods of teaching and learning, building student and staff partnership activities, and sharing her knowledge through her academic blogs, YouTube channel and an upcoming Podcast station. Before joining King's, she taught and conducted research at School of Management, Coventry University (London Campus). Her PhD focuses on Business Education and Human Capital Development. She did a BSc in International Relations at the LSE, an MA in Education at UCL, and a PhD in Education Policy at the Open University. She has extensive work and consultancy experience with corporations, NGOs, ed-tech, and universities in India, China, Vietnam, and the UK. She can speak Chinese Mandarin and Vietnamese.

Background
Human Capital Management (HCM) encompasses the practices and strategies that organizations use to manage their workforce effectively. This includes everything from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and talent development. HCM has always been a critical function for organizations, but it has become increasingly important in the post-COVID world.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a number of significant changes to the workplace, including the rise of remote work, the decline of traditional office spaces, and the increased importance of employee well-being. These changes have had a profound impact on HCM, and organizations are now having to rethink their HCM strategies in order to adapt to this new normal.
Goal/Rationale:
The workshop is intended for HR students, academics, researchers, and anyone who is interested in learning more about the latest trends in HCM and how to manage their workforce effectively in the post-COVID era.
The workshop will feature presentations from leading experts in the field of HCM, as well as case studies from organizations that have successfully implemented innovative HCM strategies. The workshop will also provide participants with the opportunity to network with other HCM professionals and share best practices.
Call for Papers
The workshop "Human Capital Management in a Post-Covid World: Emerging trends and workplace strategies" will explore the latest trends in HCM and provide organizations with practical strategies for managing their workforce in the post-COVID era. The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including:
- The rise of remote work
- The decline of traditional office spaces
- The increased importance of employee well-being
- The use of technology to manage the workforce
- The development of new HCM skills and competencies

Submission
Prospective authors are kindly invited to submit full papers that include title, abstract, introduction, tables, figures, conclusion and references. It is unnecessary to submit an abstract in advance. The deadline for general submission is October 31, 2024
Each paper should be no less than 4 pages. One regular registration can cover a paper of 6 pages, and additional pages will be charged. Please format your paper well according to the conference template below before submission.
Please prepare your paper in both .doc/.docx and .pdf format and submit your full paper by email with both formats attached directly to ws_london@icftba.org
Publication
The paper accepted by this workshop will be published in Advances in Economics, Management and Political Sciences (Print ISSN 2754-1169) and will be submitted to Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Crossref, Portico, Google Scholar, CNKI, and other databases for indexing. The situation may be affected by factors among databases like processing time, workflow, policy, etc.
* The papers will be exported to production and publication on a regular basis. Early-registered papers are expected to be published online earlier.
Participation
Poster
Besides the onsite meeting, this workshop also holds a poster session which allow for a larger number of authors to share their research. The poster session will provide an opportunity for researchers to present their work in a visual and interactive way, allowing for more engagement and discussion with other attendees. Authors of qualified papers will be invited to present their works with digital posters. We believe that this online poster session will still be a great platform for participants to share, discuss, and cooperate. All accepted authors will receive an invitation email to present a poster at this workshop. Please note that all poster presenters must submit the poster before October 31, 2024.
Guidelines for Poster Presentation
- Poster presentations must be prepared using the template provided:

- Posters should generally be in A1 size (width: 594mm x height: 841mm) and include the
followings:
Title, author and co-author names, and the affiliation(s) information.
Body parts, including "Abstract", "Introduction", "Methods", "Results", "Discussion" and "Conclusions".
- Presenters are suggested to set the font size properly and avoid placing anything at the margin part of the poster as it will be difficult to view.
- Posters should be well illustrated. All the pictures used should be high quality and with high resolution.
- All the posters will be displayed online on the official website. Each poster will have both a small thumbnail and a full-size version.
- Posters will be displayed during the online session. After the presentation is over, the full-size version of all posters will become invisible. But thumbnails still can be seen on the website.

Highlights:
The ICFTBA 2024 Workshop, co-hosted by The Open University and King’s College London, provided a dynamic and engaging forum for exploring pressing issues in international business education. With Dr. An Nguyen as the keynote speaker, the workshop delved into the themes of equity and effectiveness in enhancing student performance and self-efficacy. Dr. Nguyen's presentation offered thought-provoking insights, sparking lively discussions among the 50 participants, including the organising committee.
The workshop featured interactive discussion sessions, fostering active participation and idea exchange among attendees. This format created a collaborative environment that encouraged critical reflection on current practices and strategies for improvement in international business education.
Participant feedback highlighted the value of the workshop’s content and structure. According to the post-event survey, satisfaction levels were exceptionally high, with 100% of respondents expressing a strong desire for the workshop to be held again.
The success of ICFTBA 2024 underscores the importance of addressing equity and effectiveness in education while providing a platform for meaningful dialogue. The outstanding turnout and positive feedback reinforce its role as a significant event for educators and researchers dedicated to improving outcomes in international business education.

You must have a passport or travel document to enter the UK. It should be valid for the whole of your stay.

- you'll leave the UK at the end of your visit
- you're able to support yourself and your dependants during your trip (or have funding from someone else to support you)
- you're able to pay for your return or onward journey (or have funding from someone else to pay for the journey)
- you'll not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits, or make the UK your main home
